Add a signature in Apple Mail on Mac

Apple Mail can accept a copied rich signature. Its default-font option can change your formatting.

Mail on macOS

  1. Open Mail → Settings → Signatures (Preferences on older macOS). Select your account and press +.
  2. Name the signature. Turn off Always match my default message font before pasting the rendered signature.
  3. Choose the signature for the account, then compose a new message and check the result. If you created it under All Signatures, drag it onto the account first.

Menus vary by release and account policy. Instructions reviewed 19 Oct 2026. Official documentation ↗
